Chapter 8: Community Service

Jewish youth philanthropy programs provide an opportunity to emphasize the importance of giving, both monetary gifts and gifts of one's time (hands-on service).  The distinctions between these different ways of giving, and the ways in which one might inform the other, make a worthwhile study with teens.  There are so many wonderful resources available on service learning, in both general and Jewish contexts.

See Best Practices on this topic -- Service and Volunteering.
